SAE 1006 galvanized steel wire is a metal wire rod based on SAE 1006 low-carbon steel, with its surface treated by hot-dip galvanizing or electro-galvanizing. It is an internationally universal low-carbon steel standard, complying with the specifications of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) of the United States, with the UNS number G10060.
Chemical composition: Carbon (C) ≤0.08%, Manganese (Mn) 0.25-0.40%, Silicon (Si) ≤0.10%, Phosphorus (P) ≤0.040%, Sulfur (S) ≤0.050%, classified as extra-low carbon steel.
Mechanical properties: Yield strength approximately 275MPa, tensile strength 315-430MPa, elongation ≥30%. It is softer and has better plasticity than Q195.
Process characteristics: Excellent cold working performance, capable of 180° bending without fracture. It also has superior weldability without preheating and good compatibility with surface treatments.
Standard: Compliant with ASTM A510M standard (United States), internationally accepted, especially highly recognized in European and American markets.
