SAE 1006 Annealed Steel Wire is a soft metal wire rod based on SAE 1006 extra-low carbon steel, produced via professional annealing treatment (to relieve cold working stress, reduce hardness, and enhance ductility). It complies with SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) specifications with UNS number G10060, and is globally recognized for its outstanding softness and processability, suitable for high-precision forming scenarios.
Chemical composition: Carbon (C) ≤0.08%, Manganese (Mn) 0.25-0.40%, Silicon (Si) ≤0.10%, Phosphorus (P) ≤0.040%, Sulfur (S) ≤0.050%. It is classified as extra-low carbon steel with ultra-low impurity content.
Mechanical properties: Tensile strength 315-430MPa, elongation ≥35%, hardness HB ≤130. It is softer and more ductile than Q195, Q215, and SAE 1008 annealed steel wires.
Core advantages: Superior flexibility (capable of 180° repeated bending without fracture), exceptional cold working and forming performance, excellent weldability without preheating, and a smooth surface after annealing.
